We all know that for those struggling to support their families or fleeing abuse, the holiday season can be a source of stress. We can only imagine how much more difficult it is in this particular year. For this reason, it was essential to maintain our tradition of the Angel Tree – but as with most things this year, it has gone digital!
This year, we are sponsoring one family from the Portage Community Center (PCC) and several families from the YWCA domestic assault shelter.
We have 13 gingerbread house kits available. It will be first come; first served. Please indicate if you will pickup the Gingerbread House, or if you would like it delivered. Please sign up by December 18. Click here to Sign-up.
The Zoom Party will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 4. You may still sign-up to join the party, but you will not receive a snack bag. We'll send out the link closer to the date.
We have 16 fleece blankets ready for families to assemble at home and bring back to PoP. You can pick one up from church, take it home to complete and bring it back to PoP. See Tamara in the church office to get one for your family. Deadline to return blankets Monday, December 14. The finished blankets will go to the Bronson Pediatric Ward.
Do you have a ministry group that wants to meet via Zoom. We now have three Zoom accounts that we can use for simultaneous meetings.
Fill out the Zoom Request form. click on "Submit" at the end of the form. This will email the completed form to the secretary. You will also receive a copy of your submitted form.

Be a part of our virtual services. You can sign up to read the Lessons or the Prayers of the Church for a service. You can also be behind the scenes and Cantor or be an Audio/Video operator. Cantors do not have to be in the Choir, or on Worship Team. There is training available for A/V operators.
Most people record their reading on their smart phone, and email mail it directly to be added to the service.
If you would like to read, but do not have a recording method, contact the volunteer coordinator via email and they will make arrangements to have you record your reading. The week you are to read, an email will be sent to you with an upload link. After your recording is complete, simply click on the link in your email, and attach your video file.
In cooperation with Sherman Lake YMCA and the South Michigan Food bank, Price of Peace is a food distribution site. We are extending the food distribution through the winter. We will have the distribution November through March on the second and fourth Tuesdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Sherman Lake will provide two people to assist with the administrative work for the distribution. We need four volunteers every week to assist with the distribution. This is a drive up distribution. Contact with individuals will be kept to a minimum.
If you would like to help with the birthday card ministry to our PoP family, please sign up to address and sign cards for one month. Tamara will provide the monthly address list and stamps. Pick up the materials two weeks prior to the start of the month.
Cards will be signed on behalf of the "Prince of Peace Family". We have a supply of cards appropriate for children, teens, women and men.
